Working as an EKC strategist is rewarding - you’ll work with incredible global colleagues, grow professionally, and impact the world.

EKC is growing!

We're seeking part-time literacy strategists to join our global consulting team and our mission to support international school educators and empower multilingual, multicultural communities of PK-12 readers and writers.

EKC values your practical, on-the-shop-floor experience as an international school coach, teacher, or leader. These positions work for those able to run virtual sessions after school hours or travel to sites during school breaks, personal/professional days, etc. They also work for those currently full-time consulting.

Working as an EKC strategist is rewarding — you'll work with incredible global colleagues, grow professionally, and impact the world! — and it's also a lot of work.

We do not "press play" on old content; you won't get a script to deliver or a slideshow ready-made. We look for creative educators who can customize and strategize bespoke work for each school's unique goals and learner population.

This often requires substantial research as well as multiple rounds of feedback with an EKC coach. It's this iterative process that helps us grow new knowledge for international schools and move global inquiries forward. The creative, collaborative nature of the work is what EKC strategists say they love most.

We are looking for these teacher/learner characteristics:

  • Lifelong learner stance - especially around ways to impact readers and writers

  • Experienced with coaching and working with adult learners

  • Highly effective literacy educator

  • Experience teaching/leading in international schools

  • Committed to culturally responsive pedagogy

  • Flexible, strategic thinker, committed to studying learner impact

Along with a high level of literacy expertise, we are particularly looking for experience with these topics:

  • Multilingual learners and current research in this field (multilingual pedagogies)

  • Early Years, play-based learning

  • Research-based, evidence-based reading practices for PK-3rd Grade learners

  • Literacy as a vehicle for Transdisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Learning (PYP and MYP)

  • Concept-based Literacy

  • Standards-based Grading

All positions offer many opportunities for collaborative learning, participation in ongoing EKC projects, international staff development and are contract-based roles.
